Hi, I'm Laura!
I teach farmers to practice the right farming methods to get better yields.
I am a plant breeder, virologist, and tissue culture specialist with a PhD in Plant Protection from Egerton University, Kenya.
With over 30 years of experience, my expertise spans virus indexing, plant breeding for food and ornamental crops, establishing tissue culture laboratories, and evaluating molecular labs for ISO certification.
I also have a rich background in training research scientists on Genetic Resources and Intellectual Property Rights, alongside supervising MSc and PhD students in Plant Disease Diagnostics.
Additionally, I cultivate improved banana varieties, developed through advanced virus diagnostics, to ensure robust disease resistance.

Currently, I focus on breeding sweet potato varieties with enhanced dry matter content, increased beta-carotene levels, higher yields, and moderate resistance to viruses and weevils.
